LCMAC sponsors a number of regular public events which include:

Los Cenzontles has presented many local, regional and international artists at its community events including:

Fandango 2006

Los Cenzontles celebrated the release of its documentary Fandango, Searching for the White Monkey, with a very special event at the Oakland Museum. The event featured the Bay Area premiere screening of Fandango and a concert and fandango with Los Cenzontles and Grupo Mono Blanco, of Veracruz.


Cuatro Maestros 2001

The enormously successful Cuatro Maestros Touring Festival was a music and dance performance festival by 4 celebrated elder master folk artists representing their respective Mexican and Mexican-American regional traditions.

The artists presented were: Santiago Jimenez Jr. and his Tex-Mex conjunto, Julian Gonzalez with traditional mariachi; Atilano Lopez and Alma Purepecha and Andres Vega Delfin and Mono Blanco with the Son Jarocho.


Festival of Youth in the Tradition 1997

In July of 1997, Los Cenzontles presented a five-day international festival of performances and workshops focusing on outstanding youth groups and individuals who have dedicated themselves to traditional music.

The Festival of Youth in the Tradition focused on three styles of regional music: Banda Sinaloense, Mariachi and Son Jarocho. The Festival of Youth in the Tradition was sponsored by the U.S.-Mexico Fund for Culture.
