Cultural Exchanges and ResidenciesEvery few years Los Cenzontles sponsors a trip to rural Mexico (1991, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2004) for its young members to study folklore in its native contexts. This has been a wonderful tool to teach youngsters the relevancy of traditional arts and expand their view of the world. We also invite Mexican artists to San Pablo to initiate residencies. These have included Gilberto Gutierrez of Veracruz, Julian Gonzalez of Tecolotlan, Jalisco, Gisela Farias Luna of El Hato, Veracruz, and Atilano Lopez, of Jaracuaro, Michoacan, among others.
