A La Mar (2018)

From across the sea and over centuries, Spanish mariners carried the songs, verses and musical instruments of Europe to Mexico, a land of diverse peoples with rich histories and traditions. New cultures and people arose who preserved and transformed the ancient expressions of both worlds into something distinctly Mexican. A La Mar, a collaboration between Los Cenzntles and violinist Shira Kammen (a specialist in early European music), is a musical exploration to reconnect cultures separated by time and sea.
