Los Cenzontles dives deep into their ancestral heritage to learn the traditions of master folk artists and to pass on the traditions to younger generations. Located in the Bay Area city of San Pablo, California, they bring the traditions of rural Mexican towns to the urban cities of California.
Over the last 33 years, the members of Los Cenzontles have connected to our ancestral rhythms by practicing traditional, rural, Mexican roots music with master artists including Mono Blanco of Veracruz, Julian Gonzalez of Jalisco, Atilano López Patricio of Michoacan, Flaco Jimenez of San Antonio, and many others.
Los Cenzontles has a uniquely impactful approach to promoting traditions to young people. It is rooted in strong, genuine, and natural connections between everyone involved in our community.
